Picked up this watch from Amazon about a month or so ago and so far it's been great. The price point is hard to believe considering you're getting a Seiko 5 and it looks good to boot!

I've gotten a handful of compliments on the watch and it's rugged "look", most people can't believe it's a Seiko when I tell them. The self winding is nice and as others mentioned above it tends to get off by a minute or so a month but so far mine is still dead on when compared to the clock I used when setting the initial time. This was my first watch with an integrated day/date window and I had some issues getting it set correctly initially (multiple languages, it wasn't midnight so the day would shift early, etc.) but that was mostly due to my ignorance. I haven't tested it's water resistance claims and usually ditch the watch before I shower, swim, etc. (not to mention nylon bands can smell funky over time if wet and dried frequently) but it's taken a couple good lickings from door knobs, walls, etc. and hasn't skipped a beat. I have also worn it to the range with my pistol (a lot of vibration and jerking) and everything still runs smooth.

For me personally I'm debating picking up a couple more of these and storing them while I can still get my hands on them.

I love the face of this watch with it's minutes being the largest and easily readable measure of time followed by the smaller hours, telling time at a glance is only easier on a digital IMHO. I also love the smooth movement of the second hand on this thing, but it's taken some getting used to. I am used to looking to down at a watch and seeing the second hand jerk around the face, a lot of times I'll have to do a double take because I think the second hand has stopped moving because of how smooth the movement actually is (1/4 second movements). -- great watch, great price
i bought a 1.5k swiss automatic watch, fancy with diamonds but the mechanism begun to pulverize i was able to see diminute particles on the inside of the glass after 1 month of use, i returned the watch and got this simple and reliable one and i love it !!
is precise as a atomic watch... jk it runs ok i timed with my computer and compared after a week and there was no difference at all so i did it for a month and it was about 2 seconds over

i might get an other watch and leave this one for daily use i was hoping a bigger watch plus i miss my fancy ridiculous watch :(

after wearing a big watch this one feels like a cable tie on my wrist make sure you check out the dimensions

the thickness is great tho, the weight... you will forget you have it at first the wrist band was a little bad... it irritated my skin with micro cuts so i took vengeance and cut those sharp melted wristband pieces away -- nice nice nice...
This review was originally written for the SNK803K2. The only difference is the color of the dial. But I bought this on too.

For me this watch is fantastic. If you know auto-winds (automatics), then you know their little idiosyncrasies. So let's start there...

Timing:
It's not a chronometer, it does gain (or lose) more than 0.5 seconds/day. In fact, on some days it seems to gain as much as a minute. Gaining time seems to be a common observation with other owners and reviewers. My guess is that it is "set fast" at the factory, with the idea that "if we can't get it perfect out of the box, then it's better to be early than be late." For this, you could probably go down to your local watch repair and get the timing set. Having said that, My watch normally runs about a minute fast over the course of a month and that doesn't bother me. In fact, true to all automatics, it gains and loses a little time each day or so and it is generally the same "one minute" ahead of the current time for several months.

Quality:
The watch is obvious quality. Seiko is quality and they obviously get a great job on this one too. It's quite rugged. I regularly ride a both a mountain bike and road bike to work, which is 12 miles in one direction. The watch take a vibrational beating, but never really misses a beat (outside of the range mentioned in the previous paragraph).

Looks:
I wasn't keen on the style of the band that came with the watch, although it is tough and will probably never come apart. I went a got a leather band, and this thing is beautiful. No kidding, totally styling.

Trivia:
The numbers on the watch dial are definitely unique: minutes on the outside; hours on the inside... Okay - but is a great way to help little kids to tell analog time, "The little hand tells you the hours and the big hand tells you the minutes." Was it planned?

Recommendations:
I went out and got two more. Another for myself, with a green dial (that my oldest son commandeered) and another with a blue dial for my daughter in the Coast Guard. I was able to spend $64 a piece for these, so really, I think they were a great deal.

I have an older, beautiful Omega Deville that I wear when the occasion arises, but to tell you the truth, I end up feeling just a little guilty leaving this watch behind for some event, when it really is my trusted time piece.

However, after this... An Omega Planet Ocean. -- Great Watch - What a bargin!
